From the book "It's Time to Move On!
By: Ralph Bruksos
Even though we think we're doing just fine, we actually have not done anything significantly different to improve our lives for quite a while.
It's time to stretch. It's time to set new objectives. It's time to expand our horizons, to push beyond where we are now.
Discomfort
Discomfort is part of the price of success.
They are willing to look awkward, and maybe even silly in order to move on to new levels of accomplishments.
Analysis
People sometimes don't want to change because it would mean admitting they were wrong.
Until we start looking at and changing our own attitudes and actions, we remain stuck in place.
When you blame others, you give up your power to change.
Exploring
If I had put my mind to it, I could have really achieved something.
Keep both eyes open. Keep both eyes on the target.
I learned that I cab hit almost any target when I keep my eyes open and focused on it.
Experimenting
Current brain research shows that, when we fantasize a situation, our brain doesn't assume it is fantasy. It thinks it's real and will cause bodily reactions consistent with the fantasized situation.
We're striving to create a new reality-first in our minds and second in our lives.
Decision
Decide to face what you fear and you will change.
To reach our full potential, we must find a way through our fear. At some point in time, we must plant our feet and confront it. Once we do, the fear will fade.
We must renew the decision to confront out fears-on a regular basis.
Commitment
When a change comes, whether we choose it or it's thrust upon us, we sometimes push back against it and try to figure out ways to revert to the way we were. This resistance is often subconscious. When we persist, the change takes root in our lives and we blossom.
Recycling
Recycling is a necessary and natural part of the change process. It's how we "take our temperature"-how we figure out where we have come from, where we are, and where we're going. It's how we rejuvenate and begin the process again.
